Scent - Ozone has a unique and distinctive scent - expect the scent of medical ozone when experiencing your ozonated products. That unique ozone scent means you have a powerfully healing product completely saturated with ozone. It can take some getting used to for some people.
Heat Sensitive - It is safe if it arrives melted or warm. This product will become liquid if warm. If it is over 65 degrees F where you live, place it in the refrigerator for a few hours prior to opening the jar so it can return to its solid form. Keep it in the refrigerator during warm weather to keep it solid and also to maintain the best potency over the long-term. Degradation of the ozone does not occur unless the product is kept in sustained temperatures of over 130°F and in UV light. What is Ozone?
Ozone or O3 is Activated Oxygen (O2). Ozone contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms that Oxygen contains. The additional atom of oxygen becomes a powerful, highly active element. It destroys pathogens, like bacteria, viruses, fungi, odors, and is a potent detoxifyer. Only pure oxygen is left behind as the byproduct.
When oxygen combines with UV rays from the sun, Ozone is created. Ozone protects the Earth by attaching to pollutants and purifying the air we breathe. The ozone layer also protects the Earth from excessive UV rays. It is used to disinfect water, pools, medical environments. What is Ozonated Oil?

Why is it called "After the Rain" ?
Ozone has a sharp, clean aroma. It is named after the Greek verb for smell "ozein". As rain approaches, ozone is carried to the ground in downdrafts that move horizontally in the wind that precede the arrival of the rain. As rain falls, it creates a downdraft of air, which pulls more ozone gas to the surface of the earth. This is why we can smell ozone after it rains.

How to Use
Ideally, use after cleansing and apply alone without layering serums or moisturizers with it. Smooth over face for calming, healing, moisturizing, regenerating, and balancing of the skin. It can be thinned out with Moonlight Mist or water if you would like a less rich application. Apply to any inflammation, rashes, infections, or areas of trauma or post aesthetic treatments on face or body. After the Rain is a healing treatment. You can used it daily if you wish, but keep in mind it is meant for healing, not to act as a regular, daily moisturizer. If you are using it to actively heal a skin issue or injury, use it as many times throughout the day as you can.
It is suggested that you use your other Elaa serums or moisturizers at a different time of day, simply to allow After the Rain to work most effectively, without other products under it or on top of it. We prefer After the Rain at night due to its rich texture. But, once you test it out for yourself, you'll know what works the best for you.
This is a new and unique product for many. As a health practitioner and for Elaa products, I always recommend titrating new products. I recommend titrating to get your skin used to it. Start with a small dot on your face or wherever you wish to use it every few days. Use it on different parts of your face each time you apply it. This will help get your skin adjusted to it slowly and gradually over time. Do that for the first few week to a month. A detox response is possible when using ozonated products. If you are having a detox response, it can possibly look like a breakout, but it is not acne. The best method for using ozonated products is to spot treat and gradually get your skin used to it. If you have never used ozonated products before, do not just apply all over your face, titrate. Just like using any detoxifying product, you want to titrate to avoid an unpleasant response by over-detoxifying. If you do get a detox response, it will subside as your skin completes purging the toxins.
Massage into underarms to use as a deodorant. If you wish to additionally use it as a deodorant, it can help in that it kills bacteria and removes odor. It doesn't block or absorb moisture, but it does kill the bacteria that causes odor. Ozone gas is used in spaces to disinfect and remove odors, so the ozonated oil functions the same way.

After the Rain is Heat Sensitive. The oil has become a gel due to the ozonation process, but it will become a liquid in warmer temperatures. This normal and just fine! If it arrives as a liquid due to warm temperatures in transit, place in refrigerator and allow to solidify for several hours before opening the jar. It is is only partially liquid when it arrives, or it is solid in an odd shape. It leaves us completely solid, flat, and smooth, but it can melt in transit and then resolidify in odd shapes. In this case, place the lid on super tightly. Place it in a warm water bath that goes below where the lid starts for a few minutes. Once liquid, place in refrigerator very gently and do not move it for a few hours. Then you should have a solid, smooth, even surface.
